Privacy and cookies

What this website collects, where it goes, and how to stop the one piece of it that follows you around.

The short version

  • You can read this whole site without telling us anything. There is no account, no login, and no newsletter.
  • If you fill in a form, it becomes an email to Heritage Outdoor Solutions — so somebody can answer you. That is all it is used for.
  • There is one advertising cookie, from Facebook, and you can turn it off. The site sets none of its own.

Who runs this site

Heritage Outdoor Solutions, LLC, serving Big Rapids and northern Michigan. You can reach us on (517) 290-3765 or at Info@heritage-easyliving.com. The website is built and maintained for us by Crown Media Service LLC.

When you just read the site

Nothing is asked of you and nothing is stored on your device by us. The pages are plain files; the typefaces are served from this site rather than fetched from a font service, so reading a page does not tell anybody else that you did.

Like every website, the computers that serve these pages keep short technical records of requests — the page asked for, the time, the browser, and the network address it came from. They are kept by our hosting provider, Vercel, and used to keep the site working and to investigate faults.

When you send an enquiry

The forms ask for your first and last name, your email address, your telephone number, which service you are asking about, the town or lake your property is on, and your message. The telephone number is required because we usually answer by calling you back.

What you type is sent from this website to a mail-forwarding service at crown-media-svc.herokuapp.com, run by Crown Media Service LLC, which turns it into an email and delivers it to Heritage Outdoor Solutions. Your browser never contacts that service directly. We use what you send to answer you and to do the work you are asking about — nothing else. It is not sold, and it is not used for advertising.

Our own records of a submission deliberately do not include your name, email address or message — only that a message was forwarded, when, and which service it was about.

If you would rather we did not keep your enquiry, ask us and we will delete it. Phoning or texting instead of using a form leaves nothing on this website at all.

If you ask for a quote

The “Request a free quote” links take you to our booking system, which is run by Jobber on their own website. What you enter there is covered by their privacy policy as well as this one. The same goes for our Facebook page.

Cookies, and the one that matters

This website sets no cookies of its own. It carries one third-party tag: the Meta Pixel, which is Facebook’s advertising measurement tool. It tells Heritage how many people who saw an advert went on to visit the site, and it lets us show adverts to people who have been here before.

The pixel records that a page was viewed, along with the information your browser sends to Facebook anyway — the page address, your network address, your browser — and it reads and writes Facebook’s cookies. We do not pass your name, email address or telephone number into it, and sending an enquiry does not feed the pixel. What Facebook then does with it is governed by their own policies, not ours.

How to turn it off

  • Turn on your browser’s privacy signal. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control — Firefox, Brave and DuckDuckGo can, and several extensions add it — this site does not load the pixel at all. That is a choice we have made rather than a law we are following here, and it takes effect immediately with nothing to click.
  • Block third-party cookies in your browser settings, or use a content blocker. Nothing on this site breaks without the pixel; every page works the same.
  • Change your Facebook ad settings, which control how activity like this is used across everything Meta runs, not just here.

The notice at the bottom of the page

When you close it, that is remembered in your browser’s local storage — not in a cookie, and it is never sent anywhere. Clearing your browsing data brings the notice back.

Children

This is a service sold to property owners. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes, and asking us about any of this

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If you want to know what we hold about you, or want it deleted, call (517) 290-3765 or email Info@heritage-easyliving.com and say so — there is no form for it.
